Getting back to work

Green Ginger to receive grant from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund

We are delighted that Green Ginger is to receive a grant of £30,975 from the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.

The award will enable us to prepare for re-starting our activities once COVID-19 restrictions are being lifted and live performances are permitted again. It will help pay our core and freelance team and allow some key show development activities, such as preparing a new street theatre walk-about show to be bookable for festivals from 1 July 2021.

We will also be able to undertake some research & development for a new show concept, Taxi! (working title), which will further explore the digital animation and lo-fi puppetry approach used on Intronauts.

And finally, the grant will enable the creation of a series of short films for our schools project, RATLab, as part of a resource pack to support the show.

"This Creative Recovery Funding is both welcome and timely. It provides Green Ginger with greater stability in a uncertain times and also a financial boost to activities that have either been shelved during the pandemic or - like RATLab - have been adapted for Covid-safe performance. This additional funding for the project will allow us to create valuable resources for teachers to support the learning experience before and after a school visit by the RATLab team. These enhancements would have been impossible without CRF funding and we are grateful for the additional support which now places our company in a strong position as the live arts industry gradually reopens".
